Well, it’s Monday.
When you are depressed, Monday’s are often welcomed. Mostly, because weekends can be really hard when your mood is low.
It feels to fragmented. There’s not the same structure. You kind of feel discombobulated. You don’t know what to do, where to go…. Weekends were always hard for me unless I had a plan. So Monday’s were welcomed because I knew what to do and when to do it.
So hopefully your Monday feels like a relieved sigh.
There was a job to go to, children to get off to school, fix dinner,,,,,,I kept busy and that helped. Too much free time was very disconcerting for me.
“Whew! Made it through the weekend.”
Or you could be just the opposite and you hate Mondays because your stress levels are going to shoot right through the roof.
Either way, God is there for you. We are all different but God meets us in our differences. He doesn’t care if you love Monday’s or hate them. He is there to lift you up.
When you’re depressed, it’s hard to face the week regardless of whether you love Monday’s or not. But you can do it. You can get better.
So far today, look at the week ahead of you and think of the possibilities instead of the problems.
Turn the dread into a chance to prove to herself you can do this. The week is going to unfold no matter how you feel.
It’s hard to believe but you can decide how this week is going to play out. God has plans for you to succeed.
Jeremiah 29:11:
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Doesn’t that sound better?
I know, I know. It’s hard to believe. Especially when you’re feeling miserable.
But it’s true. This might help:
“God, it’s Monday. Help me today not fear the week ahead. Give me what I need as only you can. I don’t even know what that is, Lord but you see the day unfolding. You know what I’ll be facing. You know how I might feel. Give me faith to believe that you do have good plans for me.”
God bless and have a really great day.
